Outside was a statue of Caesar, and inside was much more. It was like a little town inside walls. I saw many old artifacts: coins; shoes; toys. There were also a lot of bread ovens outside that were my size. The coolest thing was seeing Caesar's chambers. A room with elegant furniture was closed off, but we could see in. It was covered in mosaics; they were on the walls, floor, and ceiling.
Another day we went to a look out point in the mountains. It was chilly at the top, so my cousins all went inside the restaurant to get hot chocolate. I stayed outside to take in the scenery. There was a bunch of boulders that I stood on to take pictures, and it was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I could see Frankfurt and the surrounding villages from that one spot.
One of the coolest things about staying in a little village like Bad Homburg was the sense of security I felt. Every morning I would walk by myself to the bakery and pick up breakfast for my dad. I never had to worry about something bad happening to me. At one point my dad went somewhere with my uncle and I was in the hotel alone. I locked myself out of the room by accident, and decided to walk to my cousins building. I had my laptop with me and no one bothered me at all.
We went to a thermal spa one night. It had a lot of warm pools connected inside and out, where you could swim around to relax. There were also rooms where one could lay down and different colors would appear on the walls. And then of course there were saunas. The spa was a lot of fun, but I was kind of freaked out when we passed through the "clothing optional" floor.
Another spa we went to was Sri Lankan. I got a foot massage, and afterward I was offered some thick black drink, but it didn't look to appetizing to me.
Frankfurt is a great city. It offers a little bit of everything. I would definitely go back there. Having family there made it even better.
